Ayurveda is the sister science to Yoga. While most people have enjoyed the movement aspects of a yoga class or perhaps had an introduction to the Doshas of Ayurveda, these complex systems of understanding energy flow include many aspects of how to integrate mind/body/spirit into a lifestyle that creates balance, improves health, and maximizes life force.
In this class led by Sandy of On The Path Yoga, we'll focus on the Dhatus, or tissues of our bodies. This is a unique path of understanding anatomy that is unlike our Western interpretation of individual metabolic systems such as respiratory, skeletal-muscular, nervous, etc. Discussions of how to reduce toxic buildup, improve fertility, and manage stress will be included, along with any other topics of interest to the group.
About the facilitator: Sandy Parker has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Health Education along with numerous post-graduate certifications including Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant, Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, and Restorative Exercise Specialist. She has 40 years of experience teaching the foundations of wellness to people of all ages, specializing in female pelvic health from menarche to menopause.
It is Sandy's personal belief that everyone can lead a health, radiant, and vital life.
